What to Bring & Notes
  • Bring your own charcoal


  • Hooking up to water hydrants to create
    a continuous water supply to a trailer is not allowed.


  • Campers may fill water reservoirs, if needed. However, hose must be disconnected from the hydrant when done.


  • We support Iowa's "Buy It Where you Burn It" policy to avoid the spread of invasive infestations. Wood Bundles are available for purchase. ($5.00/bundle)

Directions to Upper Gait Campground of The Natural Gait  from Monona, IA
At the 4 way stop in Monona go east on East Iowa St. which turns into B45. Go 5.2 miles on B45 and turn left onto X36. Take Jeff Davis off X36 and go 3.2 miles then turn left onto Burger Road. Follow road to end of Burger Road.

Directions to Upper Gait Gait Campground of The Natural Gait  from Marquette, IA
From Hwy 18 head west, take right onto County Road B45 just past the Welcome to IA sign. Go 7.2 miles to X36, turn right (north) on X36. At 1.2 miles take Jeff Davis off X36 and go 3.2 miles then turn left onto Burger Road. We're at the end of the road.


Directions to Lower Gait Campground of The Natural Gait  from Marquette, IA
Take 76 North (Great River Road) out of Marquette. Turn left immediately past the 14 mile marker, onto X36 (Ion Road).  Go approximately 2 miles and Turn Left onto Old Mission Drive. Continue approximately 1 1/2 miles on Old Mission Drive.  Turn right into gated Lower Gait Campground.


Directions to Lower Gait Campground of The Natural Gait  from Intersection Hwy 76 and Hwy 9, Waukon, IA
Proceed SE on Hwy 76. Turn right 7/8th of a mile past the 15 mile marker onto X36 (Ion Road).   Go approximately 2 miles and Turn Left onto Old Mission Drive. Continue approximately 1 1/2 miles on Old Mission Drive.  Turn right into gated Lower Gait Campground.
